About Us
Excellence Since 2005
Bodies in Motion began life in 2005, a small charity created by a group of concerned local individuals, aiming to work with people across Pendle, promoting mental and physical well-being and helping to provide a wide range of life-affirming, positive activities for people of all ages.
In the years since our inception, we have worked with a variety of partner organisations, including Sport England, local schools and colleges, amongst many others, aiming to bring people from all walks of life together and promote participation in health and wellbeing activities including youth work, sports, physical activities, horticulture and many others, to improve the overall health and wellbeing of people in and around the Pendle region. Our team has a wealth of experience working with under-represented groups, including (but not limited to) BAME communities, young people, refugees and asylum seekers, as well as working extensively with the general community, promoting overall health and well-being and striving to create a cohesive and connected local community, signposting to relevant agencies and working in partnership to serve the needs of the population.
Our health and wellbeing hub and an approved Warmed Space, situated in the town of Brierfield, includes a state-of-the-art, fully equipped health and fitness suite, a community café (serving healthy hot and cold food and drinks), office space and training/games rooms, ensuring our service provision continues to exceed the needs and expectations of our community and partners alike.
In addition to our health and wellbeing hub, The Garden Project, an initiative offering structured therapeutic horticultural and arts & crafts sessions, aiming to address the myriad of issues associated with social isolation and promoting an understanding of healthy, organic foods, as well as encouraging community participation in regular activities, working with a range of local community organisations.
